The Lexington Fire Department has lifted the ban on open outdoor burning in Fayette County.
Firefighters made the announcement Wednesday morning.
The fire department says burn permits will be issued again, as usual, as of Wednesday.
Firefighters cite cooler weather and improvement in the recent drought conditions in Lexington, for their decision to lift the ban.
Anyone with questions about outdoor burning is asked to call the Lexington Fire Marshal's office at 859-231-5668.
