Changes proposed for use of police cruisers by off-duty officers

Some changes could be on the way for Lexington Police and the use of their cruisers.

Lexington Police Chief Ronnie Bastin released a statement that due to budget cuts, the police off-duty policy will be changing in the near future.

Under the proposed policy, officers would only be able to use police vehicles for sanctioned events and purposes.

Off-duty officers would still be able to drive back and forth back to work, but not for other reasons.
