Death ruled accidental; man's name released

Police have released the name of a man found dead in an apartment on Malabu Drive late Tuesday night.

The Fayette County Coroner has identified the man as 54-year-old John B. Slone.

The coroner tells 27 NEWSFIRST it appears Slone accidentally slipped on a piece of glass in his apartment and bled to death.

It's believed the victim had been drinking.

"Being under the influence is probably why he didn't seek medical help but we can only assume that," said Gary Ginn, Fayette County Coroner.

A neighbor called for help after not hearing from the man.
