Police closed part of Nicholasville Road on Thursday night to investigate a serious crash.
The crash happened around 8:00 p.m.
Investigators say a gold Jeep Laredo, headed outbound on Nicholasville Road, ran a red light at Southland Drive.
It crashed into a red Honda that was turning left onto Southland. A witness told us the Jeep went so far into the air, she was surprised it didn't hit the stoplight.
The first crash caused a chain reaction involving a grey SUV and grey Honda waiting to turn left on Southland.
The driver of the Jeep had the worst injuries. A police officer helped get him to the hospital. We're told he has life-threatening injuries and went straight into surgery.
Two of the other drivers were taken to a hospital. Police describe those injuries as minor.
