Updated: Mon 6:53 PM, Mar 05, 2012

Lexington Police responded to numerous accidents as morning rush hour started Monday.

Most involved cars sliding off I-75 and I-64. Police said many drivers were going too fast for the slick conditions.

As the sun came up Monday morning, cars overturned, trapping some drivers in their cars.

Along Delong Road in Fayette County, a woman was trapped in her overturned Jeep until another driver pulled her from the wreckage.

Fayette and a number of other school systems closed for the day.
