A man accused of attacking a dentist during a robbery will make his first court appearance today.
Lexington Police say 22-year-old Daniel Hale tried to rob Doctor Candace Flener with a knife outside the Fayette County Health Department on Tuesday.
According to police, Hale cut Dr. Flener's face several times during the attack. He was arrested a short time later and charged with first degree robbery.
Dr. Flener's was treated and released from the hospital. Her husband tells 27 NEWSFIRST that his wife hopes to get back to work as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Fayette County Health Department has a security guard in place outside the Newtown Pike building.
