LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police have arrested a man in connection with a weekend murder.

Monday afternoon, Jimmie Alexander, 38, was arrested and charged with murder.

45-year old Tommy Crawford was found dead Saturday night in a field off Newtown Pike.
And now his family is speaking out about the tragedy.

We spoke with family of 45-year old Tommy Crawford, who's body was found along this stretch of Newtown Pike over the weekend. And in talking with them, we found out this isn't the first time they've had to deal with this kind of tragedy.

In June of 2000, family says Tommy's brother was pushed off a bridge and fell to his death, and they still don't know who's responsible.

"13 years ago when we went to help look for my brother, Michael. We found his shirt laying on the bank. Well when me and my mom and my daughter walked around here, before we knew it was Tommy, we found his shirt lying on the ground," said the victim's sister, Cindy Crawford.

Crawford says the eerie coincidence, along with the uncertainty of knowing who's responsible for both of her brother's deaths, is overwhelming for the family right now.

"It's, I kind of feel like I'm in shock, like it's not real still today. But, I know that it is," said Crawford. She continued, "Nobody deserves to be hurt, or beat, or anything like that. Because we're all human, you know? We just want this to be solved and for them to get the person that did it."

Family says they plan on having a candle light vigil for Tommy later tonight at Triangle Park downtown.
