Fans took the streets this evening to celebrate UK's move to the championship game this Monday.

"I have been waiting for this for a long time," explains one UK fan, "I thought we had it last year but this year I know we have it. I can't wait to wipe the floor with whoever we play on Monday."

Police closed the intersection of Euclid and Woodland for a few hours as fans poured into the streets celebrating UK's win. Police were dressed in riot gear as a safety precaution but the scene at University Plaza was controlled. "I'm glad I could be here to witness this," explains one college senior, "this is my last year as a wildcat and I'm going ending this with a bang!"

The last time The University of Kentucky won a National Championship was in 1998.
