The Follow the Food Farm Tour will take place on Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come tour some of Lexington's finest producers, markets and agritourism sites!

A breakfast kick-off will be held at FoodChain at 9 a.m., with opportunity to tour Kentucky's first indoor aquaponics farm. Ten stops are included on this self-guided tour that features some of Fayette County’s finest urban farms, markets, community gardens, and agritourism sites.

This family friendly tour showcases produce, cooking demonstrations, and other treats from the Lexington Farmers’ Market and Bluegrass Farmer’s Market. For those who have always wanted to see into the workings of an organic vegetable production system, don’t miss the UK Horticulture Research Farm. See food grown right in the city at 4th Street Farm and London Ferrill Community Garden, as well as urban chickens, as featured by CLUCK! (“Coop”erative of Lexington Urban Chicken Keepers).

Tour-goers can get up close to the first goat dairy and goat cheese plant in Kentucky at Bleugrass Chèvre, where all of the cheeses are made by hand. Kelley Farms is a favorite fall destination for the Bluegrass, where you can visit the pumpkin patch, go on hayrides, and explore other attractions.

Visit Botanica, where kids can pick and decorate a pumpkin, experience the petting barn, tire playground, and other outdoor play attractions. Seasonal home decorations and other local food products will be available for purchase on the tour. End (or begin!) your day at CRAVE Lexington, a food and music makers’ festival that celebrates all things from scratch.

This FREE food and music festival features cooking demos, live music, and food farm tours exploring all types of food, pop up events throughout the city, and more! Maps will be available the day of the tour at FoodChain and the other tour stops. Free parking in the High Street parking lot across from Rupp Arena and COLT Trolley service available from 9-noon for downtown stops.
