God's Pantry Food Bank is asking the community to reach out to help people. The Food Bank has seen record numbers of people visiting its emergency food pantries since late summer.
"We are very fortunate to have the support of so many generous people in this community," Guinn said. "However, even with that generous support, we are concerned about meeting the needs being presented to us this year. We continue to see more and more new faces entering a food pantry for the first time ever and we need additional support in order to meet all of the needs of this community."
God's Pantry Food Bank distributes food to a network of 275 member agencies, which includes food pantries, shelters, after-school programs and soup kitchens. These programs are designed to assist low-income households throughout 50 central and eastern Kentucky counties.
For every $10 donation, God's Pantry Food Bank can feed a person in need for two weeks. To make a secure online donation, visit www.godspantry.org. Donations can also be made via mail to God's Pantry Food Bank, 1685 Jaggie Fox Way, Lexington, KY, 40511 or by calling 859-255-6592.
