Governor Beshear and the First Lady stopped by the Hope Center in Lexington this afternoon.

The Governor served up 'Kansas steak burgers' to dozens of people as part of a friendly competition with the Kansas Governor, Sam Brownback. "It's a traditional thing that you do when you get into these championship rounds, you make bets with the other Governors," explains Governor Steve Beshear, "but the final bet was the most special one because it was against UK and Kansas in the finals, and we all know these teams have a history."

A fight for the championship title that ended with UK on top and Governor Beshear as the winner. "Of course Governor Brownback is very gracious and sent these steak burgers and we decided to come here and share with everyone at the Hope Center."

Hope Center volunteers were appreciate of the generosity and were happy to celebrate with the Governor. "It's been the talk at the center, it means the world to everyone that the governor is here supporting this program which means a lot."

Governor Beshear says if UK would've lost the championship game, that Kansas would've received a delicious Kentucky country ham.
