LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - WKYT is continuing to follow cases surrounding a fugitive who walked away from a courthouse.
John Buckley had two hearing scheduled in Fayette County Friday.
Investigators say he left the courthouse in July, just minutes before a grand jury found him guilty of rape. He remains on the run.
Prosecutors say one hearing Friday resulted in the woman who posted $25,000 in cash for his bond, to forfeit that amount to the state.
A second hearing has been rescheduled for September 10th. In that case, prosecutors say a judge will determine whether Buckley's uncle will need to forfeit the property he posted as bond.
Buckley's former cellmate, John Williams, pleaded guilty in August to helping Buckley flee authorities.
A warrant has also been issued for Buckley's mother in connection to her son's escape.
