Police say a group of teens led them on a chase, and hit several cars along the way.
It all started with a robbery in the skate park area of Woodland Park around 11:30 Thursday morning. The victim told police he was robbed at gunpoint by a male. The victim says that the robber and his accomplice took off in a Chevy Silverado.
Police say that getaway vehicle had been reported stolen by someone in Lexington.
An officer spotted the truck on Winchester Road. The driver refused to pull over and led police on a chase that went through several streets.
Bryan Station High School was put on alert when the suspects drove near the school. That alert was dropped a short time later. At least three other vehicles were hit along the way. Police stopped pursuing the truck on Loudon Avenue when the stolen vehicle reached speeds of 70 miles per hour.
Just minutes later, the stolen truck crashed on Russell Cave Road. The suspects took off running into a wooded area. Police arrested both suspects after a search. Police say both suspects are juveniles.
The suspects are now facing robbery, fleeing and evading, and possibly wanton endangerment, among other charges.
Friends of the victim say that he just came to the park to skate but was robbed in the process. "He just cashed his check. The guys asked if he had change for a five. He says as soon as he pulled out his wallet, the guy says just give it all to me and stuck a gun in his face," says Chase McKinney, a friend.
No one was injured.
