Homes, car damaged in shootout

Lexington Police say at least 30 shots were fired in the middle of a neighborhood, damaging two homes and a car.

So far, there have been no arrests in the shooting late Thursday night on Florence Avenue, near Georgetown Street.

As far as police know, no one was injured.

However, some of the shots went into the home of an 83-year-old man, missing his head by just inches.

"I walked the side of that house and I saw exactly how many (bullets) were close to where he was sitting, that didn't come through," Tracy Cayson, the daughter of the man, said. "It was just scary."

Cayson says her father was in his recliner watching TV, but he wasn't sure just what was going on, until police came knocking on the door.

Officers in the area heard the shots. When they arrived, they found 30 shell casings on the ground.

Another home on Florence Avenue had a broken glass door and bullet holes all over. At least one bullet also hit a parked car.

Lexington Police say people living in the area saw a dark Chevy Impala that might have been involved in the shootout.

Police say they do not have any suspects in this case.
