Honor Flights seeks Vets of WWII, Korea and Vietnam for first mission to DC monuments from Bluegrass Airport

This June will mark 70 years since the D-day invasion. It will also be the first Honor Flight from Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport to Washington DC . An Honor Flight transports our heroes at no cost to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior Veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other Veterans who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Many have departed from Louisville’s airport, but that is too far for many Central and Eastern KY veterans.

Honor Flights Bluegrass Chapter is seeking applications from Veterans of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War who are able to travel. Priority is given to senior Veterans and those with terminal illnesses. Also needed are “Guardians” to accompany the Veterans, many of whom have mobility and other physical challenges.

Applications for June's Honor Flight, sponsored by Hallway Feeds of Lexington, are now being accepted.
