Inmate in Fayette County released in error

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Inmate Rodney Bell was mistakenly released on Friday from the Fayette County detention center due to miscommunication.

Bell was transferred to Fayette County from the Shelby County Detention Center on a warrant for Contempt of Court. He was being held on a $1000 bond.

On Friday, the bond was paid and Bell was released from custody. Monday, it was discovered that Bell had also been held in Shelby County on a Federal drug charge by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.

Bell is considered by the BATF to be armed and dangerous.

A warrant has been issued for Bell's arrest and the US Marshal's Office, Fayette County Sheriff's department and Lexington Police have all been notified.

Bell is described as a 28 year old black male, black hair, brown eyes, 5'10" and 205 lbs.
