LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police have arrested five people in connection to a theft ring. We're told they targeted businesses in Lexington, and there could be more arrests.
Tuesday, Lexington Police are investigating this case involving a theft ring that circled around a business at the Fayette Mall as well as several homes around town.
Already in custody, are 20-year-old Jaleen Watson and 19-year-old Tyler Gadberry. They were arrested Monday by Lexington Police, and both men are charged with engaging in organized crime as well as burglary.
Police say Watson admitted to his role during a taped interview at headquarters Monday.
Police also learned that Watson, along with ten other people, have been involved in ongoing thefts from Apple.
Investigators also arrested Gadberry for his alleged role in this crime ring. Police say he admitted to participating in a residential burglary, but police also believe he was the primary seller of the stolen items from the Apple store.
A handful of others have been charged by police also, all juveniles.
Lexington Police say, "We have a few other juveniles who we believe may be connected, or loosely connected to these other folks. So that's what we're going to work on, is we're going to continue to follow up and see what exactly what these people are responsible for, to see what additional charges might be merited. And to see if there are other people involved."
They say more arrests in the case could be made.
Police say Watson stole more than $2500 worth of property from the Apple store.
