Lexington Police are looking for a man, after they say he was loitering outside a pharmacy on Mapleleaf Drive, waiting for people, and violently stole Oxycontin from a patient on Wednesday.

They say the man tried to get medication from a patient, when the patient resisted and chased the suspect after the robber grabbed the medicine.

We're told someone doing landscaping nearby had a shovel, which the robber picked up and hit the patient in the chest. Police say he ran off with the pain medication, which is Oxycontin.

The victim was checked out, but refused to be transported to the hospital.

Police say the suspect is on the run, and police dogs have been brought out, but could not find a scent.

The owner of C & C Pharmacy says he talked to the victim after the robbery.

He says he believes the robber knew what kind of medicine the victim had, and specifically targeted him.

He says witnesses claim they saw the robber waiting in the parking lot for more than an hour.
