LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A homeowner fought back against an intruder and even helped police make an arrest.

The homeowner, Todd Embry, tells WKYT that around 11:30 Tuesday night, someone broke into his Jesslin Drive home. Embry says he confronted the suspect with a gun and chased him outside. One shot was fired, but no one was hit.

"He tried to jump over a pile of dirt that I have outside," explains Embry, "he tripped and fell onto the ground. I went up to him and told him not to move until police got there. He lunged at me so I shot one round into the ground. He got up and started running after that."

Embry says he chased the suspect, who police identify as 24-year-old Rico Duncan, all the way to Rebel Road until police caught up with them.

"He was looking for a place to hide, he was going to hide in another innocent persons yard or garage or maybe even their house. I couldn't let this guy get away, I had to follow him until police go there. If he would have gone and hurt someone, I wouldn't be able to live with myself."

Duncan is charged with burglary.

Police say they are still looking for the two other men they believe were with Duncan at the time of the crime.
