LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) - Just last week, police arrested the man they say is responsible for murdering Thomas Rogers inside Rogers' Tishoff Drive home earlier this month.
After releasing information out through newscasts and social media, police received several calls from people saying they thought they knew the man responsible for the crime.
"Mr. Stacy had informed other known witnesses that he had killed a man in Lexington.
And in doing so he had also robbed him of property.
This property was located in the residence where Mr. Stacy was staying.
And the known witnesses informed investigators that Stacy provided this material to them," said Det. Reid Bowles with Lexington Police in his testimony.
We've told you in past coverage that police indicated that Stacy and his alleged victim knew each other. Today in court we learned how.
"Upon contact with Mr. Stacy's family members, we learned that Henry Mitchell Stacy himself had actually worked for the victim in the past," said Det. Bowles.
Despite the information police had from witnesses and Stacy's family, Stacy still denied being at the home, or even in Lexington when Rogers was murdered.
