LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - You'll soon notice a new look for Lexington police officers. The police department is getting new uniforms.
The uniforms will be navy blue instead of the current French blue. Police say the new uniforms are designed to be much more comfortable. Officers will also be wearing new hats that are designed to put less pressure on the head.
"I want citizens to know that we're going to do what we can do to make employees as happy as they can be in order to provide service to the community," says Lexington Police Chief Ronnie Bastin.
The current recruit class that just graduated will be the first to wear the new uniforms.
