LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank at a busy shopping center Monday morning.
It happened just before 11 a.m. at the American Founders Bank in the Palomar Center at the corner of Man O'War and Harrodsburg Road.
Police say around 10:42 a.m. they got a call for a silent panic alarm here at the bank. When officers arrived, one of the tellers came out and told police that a white man with a gray beard came in with a black semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.
Police tell us no one was hurt, but the man did get away in a black passenger car with some cash.
Police say they do have surveillance video and pictures of the suspect, but they're not releasing them just yet.
Detectives with the Lexington police robbery and homicide division and agents from the FBI are investigating.
The bank is now closed, but we're told it may reopen sometime Monday afternoon.
