LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are searching for a shooter after an apparent drive-by.

It happened shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Police say a woman and man were walking down Pennebaker Drive, toward Winburn Drive, when a car approached. The man took off running and someone inside the car began shooting.

At least one bullet struck the woman. Police say that bullets also hit a nearby car and apartment building.

WKYT spoke to the woman living in the apartment who said she heard the loud bang, and said it sounded like a brick hitting the wall. Until looking at the mark in the wood siding, she said she never would have guessed it was a bullet.

"I was sitting on the floor watching tv, and something went pow pow pow pow pow. And it was really scary, cause usually I have my grand kids here. And I like to see those kids be safe," said Lynda Harris.

Police found the 21-year old victim in the breezeway of an apartment building. She was taken to UK Hospital for treatment. According to police, her injury is non-life threatening.

The victim was able to tell police that the shooter was in a white, four-door passenger car.

Police are looking for the man who ran from the scene. They want to find out if he was the intended target.
