Lexington school victim of copper theft

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington school under construction became the latest victims of a copper theft early Friday morning.

Lexington Police say that someone cut the chains locking the doors to Breckinridge Elementary School on Mathilda Drive and stole copper that was laying inside of the building to be installed.

Police say that the thieves got away with at least 40-50 pieces of copper estimated at around $2,000.

No arrests have been made at this time.
