Lexington searching for man after business robbed at gunpoint

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police are searching for a man they say robbed a business.

It happened around 3 p.m. at Pioneer Credit on Woodhill Drive.

Officers say a man walked into the store, implied he had a weapon and passed an employee a handwritten note, instructing her to hand over the money quietly.

The robber got away with more than $400 cash, and police believe he ran off into a nearby neighborhood.

Police say the suspect is a man in his early 20's with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a fuzzy black hoodie, khakis, and carrying a black duffel bag with yellow writing.

This is at least the third similar armed robbery in the area in the past three weeks.

Police are still searching for a man they say robbed the Check Into Cash nearby a week ago.

We're told the man came into the the business on East New Circle Road around 2:30 p.m. last Thursday, showed the clerk a note which implied he had a weapon, and left.

They say he was last seen heading in the direction of Woodhill Drive.

He's described as a white male, 6'3", 200 pounds, in his 30's, wearing a tan jacket, light jeans, a camouflage hat, and Oakley sunglasses.

Police tell us that same business was also robbed the week before.
