Lexington begins collecting live Christmas trees

The city of Lexington will begin collecting live Christmas trees Tuesday for recycling.

Natural wreaths and even leftover fall pumpkins will also be collected. Just put them in your yard waste container.

Trees can be placed on curbs next to recycling or trash bins.

They will be collected on trash collection days.

The trees and wreaths will be made into mulch, which you can pick up for free during designated days in the spring at the city's landfill.
