The Lexington Fire Department has lifted a burn ban that's been in effect for the county for the last two-and-a-half weeks. The burn ban will be officially lifted at 7:00am Saturday.
The fireworks ban, that was put in place July 2, will be lifted as well.
The Fire Department is reminding people that if you let off fireworks, there is still a city ordinance about when they can be used. Fireworks are only allowed in the city from 10:00am to 10:00pm.
Anyone living in Fayette County is required to get a burn permit in order to burn; grills and fire pits are allowed.
