A Lexington police officer was taken to the hospital after a van slammed into his cruiser.
It happened just after 9:00 Sunday night on New Circle Road at Tates Creek Road.
27 Newsfirst is told the officer was working a non-injury accident and parked behind the vehicles involved when a van crashed into the back of his cruiser.
Police say the officer was not seriously injured, but went to the hospital as a precaution. No one in the van was hurt.
New Circle Road was closed for a while, but reopened just before 11:00.
