If you have driven by the Centre Pointe lot in downtown Lexington this week, you may have noticed the large containers on the grass lot.
Those containers hold the new signs for Fifth Third Bank, set to replace the old Saturday morning on the Lexington Financial Center building.

"That signage was fifteen years old. It had been having some bulb issues, that had burned out, so I think it had lived it's life," said Brant Welch with Fifth Third Bank.

Welch says along with being part of the company's new look, the new signs will be more green.

"The new signage is going to be sixty percent more energy efficient than the signage they recently took down," said Welch.

Welch says performing a face-lift on one the Lexington skyline's most recognizable landmarks will be no small task.

"It'll be a helicopter lift, they'll just launch that and put those on both sides of the building."

The company performing the installation has worked with the city to establish a perimeter around the city block that will be off limits for most of the day Saturday.
