A man will answer to charges today after he was charged with helping an Adair County jail escapee elude authorities in Lexington.
Lexington Police arrested 38-year-old Timothy Wilson after officers tried making a traffic stop on Florence Avenue Saturday.
Investigators told WKYT officers believed Antonio Howard was a passenger in Wilson's car when they tried to stop it.
Both the driver and passenger fled after the vehicle stopped.
Officers were able to arrest Wilson, charging him with second degree hindering prosecution or apprehension.
Howard was in jail on drug charges when he escaped. He was only three weeks away from a possible parole hearing.
Last week Howard's mother told WKYT that she is encouraging him to turn himself in to police.
"I'm the type of mother if I know where he's at and what he's doing, then I'm gonna send the police there, and he knows this," said Eugenia Howard, the escapee's mother.
Howard is still at large.
