We have learned new information about an attack that landed an officer in the hospital.
Lexington Police say John Ratcliff was a passenger in a drunk driver's car when a Fayette County Public School officer tried to pull the car over on Military Pike Sunday.
Police say the officer hadn't even gotten out of his car when he rolled down the window to talk to the driver. Ratcliff is accused of dragging the officer out of his car and beating him up.
Late Sunday night, Lexington Police told 27 NEWSFIRST that Ratcliff also assaulted a Kentucky State Police trooper when Ratcliff was arrested on Troy Pike in Woodford County.
There is no word on how that trooper is doing.
The school officer is expected to be okay.
The driver of the pickup truck, Ernest Turner, is charged with DUI and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
