Morning storm leaves damage in Lexington

Lexington, KY (WKYT) - Lexington Police and fire crews have been busy responding to several calls across the city caused by a powerful storm that blew through the city Thursday morning. As of noon police reported several traffic lights still dark in the city and trees down in several locations.

Traffic lights at the following locations were still out:
Clays Mill/Pasadena
Lansdowne/Reynolds
Harrodsburg/Springhurst
Larkspur/Harrodsburg
Broadway/Haggard
North Broadway/Old Paris
Clays Mill (Rosemont Garden to Clays Mill)

Police are also reporting power lines and poles down on Irvine Road, Old Paris Road, Clays Mill Road and at Jefferson & Main. So many power lines and trees were knocked down on Newtown Pike, at Citation Blvd, that the road is currently closed and may be for most of the day.

There are also reports of trees down at the following locations:
Newtown & New Circle
Broadway & Fourth
1593 Russel Cave Rd
Mark Ave & Hudson Ave
Sandersville & Greendale
Athens Boonsboro & Clark County Line
427 Henry Clay
Old Todds & Palumbo
1014 McClain Drive

There are also reports of trees and storm debris in the road on Old Frankfort at Elk Chester and on Iron Works at Paris Pike.
