Update: Name of man killed in Lexington motorcycle crash released

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - UPDATE: The name of the motorcyclist killed in a crash Tuesday night has been released.

The Fayette County Coroner tells WKYT Michael Osborne, 50, of Lexington, was killed on Delong Road, after crashing into a tree. The coroner says he was wearing a helmet.

The coroner reports Osborne died of multiple blunt force trauma.

Funeral arrangements for Osborne is being handled by Milward Funeral Directors in Lexington.
The Fayette County Coroner's Office has confirmed a motorcyclist has died after crashing into a tree.

It happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night along Delong Road, not far from Walnut Hill Road.

Officials say the man was taken to UK Hospital where he died.

Investigators spent more than an hour taking measurements and studying the scene to understand just what went wrong to send the rider into a tree.

Police say the area where the accident happened has a "slight hill" and an "S" curve. No other vehicles were involved, and while not much is known about what caused the crash police say the rider was wearing a helmet.

The victim's name, age and where he was from have not yet been released.
