Despite a break in his trial today, a man charged with murdering his wife, still had to appear in court.

Donald Southworth's attorneys and prosecutors discussed evidence during a hearing Friday afternoon. Both sides had to agree on how several pieces of evidence, including statements made by the defendant, would be introduced when the trial resumes Tuesday following the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Attorneys did not talk about what that evidence is specifically.

"That's part of the agreement, we can't discuss that information right now," said Michael Rowland, one of Southworth's attorneys. "These types of things are just part of the process."

Lexington Police say Southworth beat his wife Umi, then left her outside their apartment on Meadowthorpe avenue in June 2010.
