Neighbors use social media to find suspected thief

A group of neighbors used social media to help police catch a suspected criminal. They believe she's behind half a dozen thefts in Lexington's Pinnacle neighborhood. Police charged Anna Melissa Bibb with burglary and receiving stolen property.

Families in the Pinnacle neighborhood have started noticing things missing from their cars and garages, even front porches.

"They only had a minute or two maybe and they just grabbed something and went. It was basically like a phone charger," says Angela Casini.

Casini says someone walked into her garage Super Bowl Sunday and stole a few things out of her car, the same night someone stole her neighbor's purse. Around that time, another neighbor lost his laptop. And a fourth filed a report with police - someone took a package off her front porch.

Neighbors have been sharing descriptions of the thief and colors of possible cars involved. They've been posting their findings on a Facebook page, called Pinnacle Neighbors. With a description of the getaway car and suspect, neighbors started thinking the thief lived very close to them.

"It's kinda surprising that it is someone from close by. It is kind of strange," says Casini.

Their tips helped police arrest one of their neighbors, Anna Melissa Bibb. Bibb is in jail now for burglary and for stolen property.

Police are asking all victims of theft in the Pinnacle area to file a report with them listing all missing items.
