LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Hundreds of people volunteered their time Monday night to make the holidays a little happier for soldiers overseas.
Military Missions held its annual Operation Send Christmas care package assembly at the National Guard Armory on Airport Road.
Volunteers put together care packages filled with snacks, toiletries, and other supplies for soldiers. Organizers say soldiers appreciate it.
"It's amazing how much it means to them. We get amazing letters of thanks from people, and it means a lot even to their family members if they know they've added their name to the list, and they receive a care package. And they hear about it and they're like, 'Oh my gosh, you made my day," Military Missions founder, Beth Pennington, told WKYT.
