This evening, Sheena Hutchens sits behind bars here at the Fayette County Detention Center after police say she was passed out in her SUV while her children were in and around the vehicle.
Hutchens pleaded not guilty to three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count of public intoxication in court this morning. Police say they found her passed out in the driver's seat of this Ford Expedition on Rugby Drive around 6:00 last night. They say 3 of her children ranging in age from 1 to 4 were inside the SUV or running around alone in the front yard. When they got her out of the car, police say Hutchens was unsteady, had slurred speech, and glassy eyes. They say after getting sick, she told them she "loves her 'Perc 30s',"
Hutchens refused our interview request and her family didn't want to appear on camera, but they told us they hope the experience serves as a wake-up call to her. She's set to be back in court April 10.
