A major Lexington intersection had several lanes shut down after a Lexington police officer, responding to a call, was hit by another car
Police say the officer involved in the wreck, Jeremy Brislin, was heading into Lexington on Nicholasville Road, with lights and sirens on, and was responding to a call.
Police say traffic had stopped, to allow Officer Brislin through. He had almost cleared the intersection when he was hit on the passenger side by a car driven by Nicholas King.
Police say both drivers were shaken up by the crash, and went to the hospital to be checked out, but did not have any serious injuries.
"It definitely increases the stress, especially a big, huge intersection like this. You're just going lane by lane, hoping that everybody is watching for each lane to see it stop," said Lt. Chris Van Brackel with Lexington Police.
The officer was taken to the hospital to be drug tested as part of Lexington police policy.
No charges have been filed.
