Lexington Police closed a big section of New Circle Road, just between Leestown Road and Old Frankfort Pike this afternoon.

Police say a woman in a gold car was on the inner loop, going at high rate of speed, when she crossed into the outer loop and hit a tanker truck. Her vehicle then struck a silver car. The driver of the gold vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and was listed in stable condition at UK Hospital.

Authorities say two men were in the second vehicle. They had to be cut out by fire fighters. Late Tuesday afternoon police said both men were in critical condition also at UK Hospital.

Fayette Commonwealth's Attorney Ray Larson was on scene because criminal charges could be filed against the woman who police say caused the crash.

Witnesses say she was driving at a high-rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic seconds before the accident. They have not said if she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Tuesday night, the driver who lost control of her gold Buick LeSabre, Ines Badinga of Lexington, was listed in serious condition at UK Hospital. Both the drivers of the tanker truck and the silver Toyota Camry were treated and released. A passenger in the Toyota Camry, Erik Spurling, was listed in fair condition at UK Hospital.
