Potential armed robber flees when cashier says he didn't have the money

Lexington Police say a potential armed robbery was thwarted Sunday morning when the cashier said he didn't have anything to steal.

It happened at the Little Caeser's Pizza around 9:00 a.m. on North Locust Hill Road.

Police say a man was pacing outside the strip mall on North Locust Hill Road before they opened that morning.

According to investigators, when the store's manager arrived about 9 a.m., the man put on a black ski mask and pointed a pistol at him, demanding money.

When he said he didn't have any, the man took off on foot, heading west on Richmond Road.

He’s described as an African American man, in his late teens to early 20s, wearing dark clothes with a black ski mask and white tennis shoes.
