With a name recognized as one of Central Kentucky’s best and most authentic Mexican restaurants, Rincon Mexicano Gift Shop will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, April 14, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. There will be food and drinks, as well as live music. Located at 3100 Harrodsburg Road, Suite 170, this exciting new gift shop will feature a wide variety of authentic, “Made in Mexico” handcrafted items, including Talavera (Mexican ceramics), decorative items made of clay, wood and metal, as well as clothing and furniture.
“Many of the handcrafted items include one-of-a-kind trinkets, garden pots, vases, figures – like horses, frogs, butterflies, trees, ladybugs and boots, crosses, piñatas, fountains and more,” Sergio Budar, owner, said. “We have a nice line of unique furniture made from tequila barrels, such as a cantina with swivel chairs, a grill, ice chest and other pieces.”
“Many of the artisans are from the central states of Guanajuato, Jalisco, Queretaro, Aguascalientes and even Chiapas,” he added. “Our plans include featuring bakery items with Mexican flavor, like flan, dulce de leche, guava pastries, pineapple empanadas and we’re possibly considering making our own ice cream and candy.”
“We invite everyone – whenever you’re dining at Rincon Mexicano – or you’re looking for authentic, handcrafted items – to come in and explore Rincon Mexicano Gift Shop,” Mr. Budar said. “You won’t find these items in your ordinary, big retailer – our shop is truly a destination from the every day.”
