LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Despite soggy conditions, and a downpour at one point, thousands of people still showed up for the annual Red, White & Boom concert in Lexington Friday.
This was the first year the concert sold out. More than half a dozen country artists headlined the event, and rain certainly didn't keep fans from hearing their favorites. Many people wore protective rain gear like ponchos and jackets, but others told WKYT they didn't mind the wet conditions.
"I actually have a rain thing in the back of my pocket, and I'm sitting here supporting this music with these people. So there's a lot of people here that don't have rain jackets, and I'm just here with them. I don't mind it," remarked one concert-goer.
