LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Crews say a retired fire chief is responsible for putting out a car fire that was the result of an accident Sunday.

It happened around 1:00 p.m. Sunday on Reynolds Road.

Officials at the scene say a car was attempting to leave a grocery store and get onto Reynolds Road.

They say the driver was using his or her cell phone and was hit by another vehicle going westbound on Reynolds.
