LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Basketball fans may have an easier time making it to Rupp Arena on Saturday.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced late Friday afternoon that road work and lane closures on Newtown Pike will temporarily cease.
The project on Newtown Pike between West Fourth Street and West Loudon Avenue began Friday morning. Workers closed one lane in both directions for the project. The lane closures will be suspended Friday night and all lanes will be open this weekend.
The state says the work will resume Monday morning.
