Sheriff's office captures wanted fugitive out of Ohio

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office captured a man wanted in Ohio.

Justin Lee Scott, who is a registered sex offender out of Ohio, was arrested and charged as a Fugitive on an outstanding felony warrant out of Clark County, Ohio, for Failure to Comply with Ohio Sex Offender Registry. He was convicted of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor in 2003.

Scott last registered on January 17, 2012, with the Clark County Sheriff's Office, at which point he registered as homeless. Ohio state law requires that convicted sex offenders who register as homeless, report weekly to the local Sheriff's Office with a description of where they intend to stay. Scott last reported his residence on February 14, 2012, to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.

The Fayette County Sheriff Sex Offender Compliance Unit worked with authorities in Ohio to capture Scott. He will have an extradition hearing in Lexington today at 1:00.
