Some property damage reported following UK's championship win

Cleaning up continued into Tuesday morning following parties that celebrated the University of Kentucky's eighth national championship in men's basketball.

Lexington Firefighters told WKYT the department responded to 65 reports of fires since the game ended Monday night.

That number included two garage fires. One garage burned in the 200 block of State Street. Another garage caught fire at State Street and Crescent Avenue.

At least one car was overturned during the celebrations. Witnesses told WKYT a car parked at the Speedway gas station on South Limestone was flipped by a group of eight to ten people.

The car belonged to a clerk who was working in the gas station at the time.

Witnesses also told WKYT someone threw a molotov cocktail at the car, but it didn't catch on fire.

There was also a report of a molotov cocktail being thrown at a car on Oldham Avenue, however that car didn't burn, either.

There were numerous couches burned near campus late Monday into early Tuesday.
