Police say two friends set up a sting that led Lexington Police to a theft suspect late Tuesday.
It started when one of those friends tried to sell jewelry to a man who contacted him through Craigslist.
Officers say the man looking at the jewelry, Jamory Russell, 21, took off with a gold necklace without paying for it outside the Thornton's at North Broadway and West Loudon.
The victim's friend later posted a listing on Craigslist, offering to sell items, when Russell contacted that friend, as well, according to officers.
When the victim and his friend saw Russell waiting outside the Indi's on North Broadway, they contacted police.
Officers say Russell tried running from them when they arrived.
Russell and an officer suffered road rash during the arrest.
Russell is now charged with felony theft, resisting arrest and fleeing and evading.
Lexington Police say Russell had been arrested for a robbery in March.
