Lexington Police reopened East Maxwell Street just before morning rush hour Thursday.
A suspected drunk driver took out a utility pole hours earlier during a crash near Lexington Avenue.
The broken pole has been removed.
However, crews plan to install a new poll after 9:30 a.m., which could take several hours.
East Maxwell is expected to be closed again after 9:30 a.m.
The driver involved in the accident wasn't hurt. However, he was arrested and charged with DUI.
