After months on the run, the so-called "Nike Hat Bank Robber" is behind bars.
The South Carolina paper, Georgetown Times, says an off-duty agent and an investigator on medical leave were driving around town when they saw Wesley Todd McCracken run out of a bank, almost into traffic. They then saw a red dye pack explode inside the bag McCracken carried. The paper reports they followed him to the parking lot of a Ryan's Family Restaurant and confronted him.
Investigators in South Carolina believe McCracken is the "Nike Hat Bank Robber." The serial robber is wanted for the robberies of 13 banks in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, West Virginia, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
