In order to raise awareness and build community relations between those affected by diabetes, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), in partnership with Talon Winery, is inviting Bluegrass residents to the Third Annual Toast to a Cure event in support of the American Diabetes Association's mission - to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes. Tickets are now available at www.diabetes.org/toasttoacure.
The Toast to a Cure event is being held at Talon Winery on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature live entertainment by musical group, Twiggenbury’s. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $25 for admission with food, provided by Billy’s Barbeque. At the event, guests can have their meal from Billy’s or bring their own picnic food while enjoying an evening of live music, wine, and fun with friends and family.
"In the Bluegrass, we're dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes. Our fund-raising efforts will help fund ADA research, education and advocacy right here in our community," said Louanne Cooper, American Diabetes Association Board Member. She adds, "With so many Americans and over 400,000 Kentuckians affected by diabetes, we want to reach out to them, educate them and bring a new generation of people into the ADA family. Working together is the most powerful way to help find a cure for this disease."
